Girl About Town

Blouse- Eileen Fisher
Tank- Eileen Fisher
Leggings- Diane Kennedy
Shoes- Kenneth Cole Reaction
Bag- Fossil
Ring- Fossil
Lipstick- MAC Girl About Town

Today I took a break from studying and went shopping with my mom, so the title of this post is not only the name of the lipstick I wore, but also what I did today! I really liked wearing this outfit, it was really comfortable, the blouse is nice and roomy and I love these leggings SO much! Before now, I probably wouldn't have been as comfortable in this type of outfit- I used to be a competitive synchronized swimmer, and had disproportionately large calf muscles. However, since I haven't trained for about four years they are starting to atrophy, and I recently tried on a mini dress for fun and after my friend (and coworkers) complimented me on my legs, I started to be less self-conscious about it, and ultimately realized that I love how my legs look! Hurray! (To my friend- thanks love!)
Today's lesson: standing facing the sun results in squinty-eyed pictures!

Helvetica!

Today's post is written in Helvetica! This is a very deliberate design choice! Today was my final exam for my book history class, and I was delighted to be able to twist one of the exam questions to talk about Helvetica, and how font choice and handwriting styles influence how we interpret the meaning of texts! I highly recommend watching the documentary "Helvetica", FABULOUS!

Blouse- Gelco
Leggings- Diane Kennedy
Lipstick- MAC Taupe

This is my crazy dog, Charlotte. She is a four-year old Labradoodle (her mom was a standard poodle and her dad was a black lab). She's a bundle of fun and energy, and was walking through the kitchen while my mom was taking my pictures, so I thought I'd nab one with her!

Hooray!

Tank- Gap
Cardigan- Eileen Fisher
Capris- Walmart
Shoes- Miss Mooz
Bag- Big Buddha
Glasses- Etnia Barcelona
Lipstick- MAC Taupe

Today has been a fabulous day! I wore my favourite shoes and my beautiful new Eileen cardigan from my work, which fits and feels like a dream, and went off to my last day of classes for the term! It got even better when I got to see all three of my absolute favourite people at the SAME time, and then had an hour of class before coming home! The only downside to my day has been knowing about the snow Edmonton is supposed to get. But we'll deny that's happening...maybe if we're lucky it won't....one can always hope, right?
Don't you love when you have a great day in a great outfit?

A Sorry Excuse

It's that time of year...
I feel terribly guilty for the lack of posts this past month. I've been crazy busy with the end of term, and finding the time to post has been really difficult. However, I am happy to say that although I love school, term is almost over....which means summer holidays and a chance to recharge. My goal for this blog is to start posting more regularly again, and to start reaching out and participating more in the blogging community.
I'm also very happy to say that spring has finally sprung in Edmonton! Yay!
