I have recently put the album "Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge" by The Pierces on my iPod, and I have had it on continuous shuffle for the past 3 days. I love the haunting and eerie melodies, and it's an enjoyable ride. So much so that I felt compelled to create an outfit that reflected what I thought of it...
Ahhh. It has been crazy busy since school started! My goal this term is to stay on top o my coursework and not procrastinate, so I've been reading and writing and working like crazy. I have to work on finding time to fit in taking pictures at some point in the day, because once I get a moment, most days I'm much too tired and just want to climb into some pjs. Like in this polyvore set....
This past weekend I had an interesting experience at work, and I still haven't been able to get it off my mind. I work at a plus size clothing boutique, and on Sunday, a lady came in looking for a winter jacket- something warm, longer, and more of a "ski-jacket" style. I showed her our jackets, and when she wasn't able to find anything that fit what she was looking for, I mentioned that a couple years ago I had found a nice jacket in the style she was looking for at Mark's Work Warehouse. She proceeded to say that I was barely plus size, and that she wouldn't find anything large enough there (she wore a 2x). This left me feeling a little jilted and I felt like she was saying I wasn't "plus sized enough" to do my job.
When I finished work, my mom asked me if I wanted to stop at the Bay Southgate, because they had coats on sale (as well as boots, and everything else imaginable) for up to 80% off. Of course I said yes, because who doesn't love making the perfect find at that kind of price... And of course I found THE jacket. A beautiful green/teal peacoat with a small ruffle at the bottom of the neck by the buttons by Kenneth Cole. I ran over to it and frantically looked at the sizes of the two of them. Sadly, no luck. When I tried it on, it was too small. Heartbreaking...
Hooray! I love the beginning of a new semester- new classes, new textbooks, and an enthusiastic outlook. However, I do not love snow, or the cold. With everything that has been going on, I haven't had time to update, or for that matter have any creativity with what I wore. The formula was throwing on a t-shirt, a cardigan, jeans, and swiping on powder foundation and mascara, and running out the door like a madwoman. I couldn't have lived without winter boots and my Sugar Plum tinted lip balm by Fresh. In lieu of a real photo, or exciting fashion news, I played on Polyvore!
Recently a short documentary was made about Scott Schuman, the man behind The Sartorialist. Instead of me blabbing on about his brilliance, here's the video!

Today I truly discovered the blog Saks in the City , I had heard of it before, and perhaps briefly glanced at it, but now I'm hooked.Sakina is a curvy Parisian beauty with a FABULOUS sense of style. In addition to her charming and chic blog, she is also the Paris v-logger for Vogue Curvy. If you haven't seen her blog, take a look!

Zac Posen has chosen Crystal Renn as the main model for his Pre-Fall 2011 campaign! Although the fashion world's notion of curvy and plus size is still quite slender, it's very exciting for such a well known designer to pick a plus size/curvy model for such a large campaign. I'm incredibly excited to see the campaign! Vogue Curvy (Vogue Italia) did a brief article on the campaign, which you can read here .
